The SSSTS course online is for you if you’re considering, or already have, supervisory responsibilities working on a UK construction site. The online SSSTS course gives you an understanding of the health, safety, welfare and environmental issues on a construction site.

SSSTS Courses Online

The online Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme course, or SSSTS, is a qualification created by CITB to establish a clear industry-wide standard for the management of health and safety on construction sites. An SSSTS qualification is shown in the Approved Code of Practice for construction regulations, it is considered to be a key requirement for anyone who acts in a supervisory role on a construction site.

SSSTS course online mandatory entry requirements

► To be able to read, write and understand English to a good level. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area

► You will need to provide a valid ID on the first day of the course, such as a copy of your passport or driving licence

► If you need to re-sit the test, you must do this within 90 days of the original course date at an additional charge

 

 

SSSTS courses online delivered by zoom

RISK was the first company to adapt and deliver CITB SSSTS courses for remote online training. The courses are delivered in an engaging format unique to RISK, to ensure the delegates acquire the relevant knowledge and training experience. RISK worked directly with CITB to adapt the SSSTS course so it can be taught online remotely, via video conferencing using zoom. This is because Zoom was found to be more bandwidth friendly than Teams, especially important if you're using a home internet connection.

► Certification for the online SSSTS course is valid for 5 years

Taking part in the ‘Zoom technology test’ is simple, takes about 5 minutes and ensures you get the very best learning experience from the second your online SSSTS course starts. ► Theory Test – A number of multiple choice and written questions, currently undertaken in Microsoft Forms to maintain the integrity/confidentiality of the exam process. Delegates must score 80% or more to pass.

There are five core components to obtaining the SSSTS qualification with RISK, each step is explained within the Personal Learning Zone to make your SSSTS course experience and learning intuitive.

 

#1 - Downloading the GE706 official SSSTS course online manual

► The GE706 download link will be sent to you via your 'joining instructions' email.

► The GE706 is required as a reference source of key information throughout the 2 day SSSTS course online.

► Ideally, it's beneficial to review this information BEFORE the course starts and be familiar with the contents, structure and format.

 

#2 - Download the SSSTS course online structured notes

This is a Word document produced by RISK specifically to help you manage the information contained in the online SSSTS course. It's a download within your joining insructions.

► It's designed to structure the notes you take throughout each day of your online SSSTS course.

► Your structured notes need to be printed - if you haven't got a printer, RISK will mail them out to you.

► Your structured notes also provides the relevant GE706 book reference for the information each day - allowing you to quickly cross reference and access key information within the SSSTS course online GE706 digital manual.

 

#3 - Completing the 2 day SSSTS course online

► RISK provide a daily learning framework - Each days agenda, the slide deck and any other relevant learning resource specific to the days lesson plan is accessible on the relevant 'day' menu tab within the Personal Learning Zone. This is especially useful as it helps you build your knowledge and understanding.

 

#4 - SSSTS course online exam

On day 5 you will complete an online exam

► Individual SSSTS online exam papers are assigned to each course being taught.

► On the day of your exam the tutor will send out an email containing a link which opens your online exam. The tutor will guide all delegates through the opening of the online exam and exam process to ensure everyone can access the online exam paper.

► The exam paper is made up of two parts and you have 30 minutes to complete the exam.

Part A - 22 multiple choice questions worth one mark each

Part B - 3 written questions worth two marks each

After 20 minutes - you are allowed to access your downloads/notes to help validate or support your answers.

 

#5 - Sameday marking and results of your SSSTS course online exam

► Your completed exam paper is marked by your SSSTS course online tutor the day of the exam, this can take 40-60 minutes to complete the process.

You will have three possible outcomes:

► 80% or more gives you a PASS

► Score 71% or less and you will need to resit the whole course.

► Score anything between 72% - 79% and you will be able to resit the exam that day. You get one more chance to achieve a pass. There is a different dedicated SSSTS re-sit online exam allocated which is different to the exam taken earlier. If you fail to achieve a pass, you will need to resit the whole course.

If successful you will receive your digital certificate within 2 weeks.

 

 

CITB has a rigorous approach to malpractice, plagiarism and collusion during the SSSTS course online & exam

This ensures fairness for all SSSTS course learners and provides reassurance to the organisations who employ CITB SSSTS qualification holders.

During the online SSSTS course you will be required to:

► Show your identification to check you are who you say you are

► Show the room you are in to make sure you are alone

► During the SSSTS course online exam you are invigilated, this means you are always being observed to ensure you are engaged with the screen and not accessing notes, or receiving any other support

To make sure the online SSSTS courses are carried out correctly CITB silently observes a targeted selection of courses AND scrutinises delegate exam papers. If your RISK tutor or CITB suspects malpractice at any time it will be investigated further. An individuals qualification can be withheld and an entire course could be rejected if found to be acting outside the framework set out by CITB.

It's worth noting that CITB have rejected hundreds of courses, resulting in thousands of individuals having their qualifications withdrawn - so choosing the right training provider, one who is credible and has a proven track record, is essential.

 

 

At the end of the SSSTS online course you will be have an understanding of:

► Health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors

► Your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely

► Risk assessments and the need for method statements

► Effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings

► Monitoring site activities effectively

► Timely intervention when bad practice is identified

 

Certification for the SSSTS online course is valid for 5 years.
